Are you interested in providing wildlife habitat, better water quality, and erosion control on a creek, stream, or river? Then join Clackamas Soil & Water Conservation District for a two-part streamside restoration workshop that includes a blend of presentations and hands-on learning.
In this two-day free workshop series, participants will learn:
- What a riparian area is and why its important;
- How to assess a project site, including plant identification and soils;
- How to treat the most common streamside invasive plants;
- How to design your project including stock type, seed zones, natural disaster considerations, etc.;
- How to install your plants and maintain the project after planting;
- Learn about organizations in your area that provide assistance with these projects
At the end of the workshop series, participants will have the opportunity to work individually with professionals to answer any questions about their specific project or property.
