Clackamas County will host a public surplus property auction on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, offering 48 tax-foreclosed parcels located throughout the county.
The oral auction will take place at the Clackamas County Circuit Court, 1000 Courthouse Rd., Oregon City (Room 4C). Doors will open at 9:15 a.m., and the auction will begin promptly at 10 a.m.
Registration is required to participate. Prospective bidders must complete online registration in advance and provide proof of funds equal to 20 percent of the property's minimum bid. Accepted payment methods include cash or a cashier’s check only. Unregistered participants will not be admitted.
The winning bidder’s remaining balance must be paid within 48 business hours of the auction. Failure to pay will result in forfeiture of the deposit, and the property may be offered to the next highest bidder. This is a cash-only auction—personal checks, business checks, and money orders will not be accepted. Cashier's checks are accepted as well.
These properties are tax foreclosed surplus properties. The county works closely with property owners to help them resolve unpaid taxes and avoid foreclosure whenever possible. In cases where taxes remain unpaid after an extended process, the county may assume ownership of the property through foreclosure. Once this happens, the county has the ability to make the property available through a public auction, which allows it to be returned to productive use in the community.
Attendance is limited to 100 people. Only registered bidders with verified funds are guaranteed entry. Guests may be allowed only if capacity permits.
All properties are sold as-is, and title insurance is not provided. Interested participants are strongly encouraged to conduct their own due diligence regarding zoning, access, and potential property use.
