The county recognizes that its most valuable resource is its employees. You are joining an organization that places a high value on service and innovation. We have a very active employee recognition program that serves to recognize and commend the employees and the teams that perform outstanding customer service and who generate ideas that improve efficiency and costs.
The County has a number of recognition programs:
Bravo! is for any employee to recognize another employee's outstanding customer service and innovative ideas. A Bravo! lets others know how much their efforts are valued.
Team Excellence Award
Team Excellence is a team award received through a nomination process. A Team Excellence nomination is submitted by a management employee, and reviewed and approved against established criteria by the appropriate department directors.
Monthly Recognition Lunches
The County hosts a monthly employee recognition luncheon to show its appreciation to employees based on their years of service, participation in wellness events, or special service. This is also the time when the drawing for the Bravo recipients takes place. The Commissioners host the event for invited employees and their supervisors. It's a fun hour of great food, enjoyable stories, and an opportunity to meet employees from many different departments. Certificates of appreciation and other items are given to attendees.
Employees are recognized for their longevity in service in five year increments. The event usually has someone relating a story from times back in our memories and can showcase how much the County has changed over the years.
Once you start employment, be sure and check out details of these exciting programs, available on the County Intranet. Each Bravo! recipient is placed in a quarterly drawing for a $150 gift card, and one winner is drawn for every 25 recipients. Each successful Team Excellence nominee receives a variety of recognition, both within their department(s) and at the County level. We hope to see your name announced in one of these awards!
