On Friday, December 27, 2024, at approximately 2:15 p.m., the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an assault call in the 8900 block of SE 82nd Avenue in unincorporated Clackamas County. Witnesses reported seeing a man assaulting another man in a grocery store parking lot.

On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office arrested Carlos Raul Hererra-Medrano, age 20 of Gresham, on charges related to the shooting in the parking area near Clackamas Town Center on December 20, 2024.
Herrera-Medrano was arrested in Gresham with assistance from our law enforcement partners at the U.S. Marshals Service. He was booked into the Clackamas County Jail where he is being held without bail on charges of Attempted murder in the second degree and Assault in the second degree.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, deputies assigned to the City of Happy Valley responded to reports of a man armed with a rifle at Camp Withycombe, located at 15300 SE Minuteman Way, Happy Valley.
Callers to 911 reported a man was carrying a rifle inside the gym building of Camp Withycombe. Based on the man’s actions, deputies determined the man, an active member of the Guard, was likely experiencing a mental health crisis.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024, Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a serious traffic crash in the 15000 block of S Clackamas River Drive in unincorporated Clackamas County, north of Oregon City.
When deputies arrived, they found a 2009 Mazda CX7 SUV and a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek that appeared to be involved in a head-on crash. Both vehicles had severe front-end damage and the Mazda’s engine compartment was on fire. Deputies attempted to extinguish the fire until firefighters arrived.

On Saturday, November 30, 2024, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office recovered two deceased dogs believed to be Susan Lane-Fournier’s. The dogs have been transferred to the custody of the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, where investigators are working to confirm their identities.
This case remains an active homicide investigation. Detectives continue to request information from anyone who saw Michel Fournier in the days leading up to Susan's disappearance or has knowledge of his activities and whereabouts since then.
