Oak Lodge Library

The new, 15,300-square-foot library will include study rooms, a community meeting room, a history/conference room, children's and teen areas, space for Friends of the Oak Grove Library, a seed library, computer workstations and much more. Construction of the new Oak Lodge Library is one of the final steps to providing two new library buildings to serve all the residents of Oak Grove, Jennings Lodge and Gladstone.

The new Oak Lodge Library will be on property owned by North Clackamas Parks & Recreation District (NCPRD) at 3811 SE Concord Road, next to the historic Concord School building. The library building has been designed and construction is beginning in January 2024. NCPRD is planning to convert the adjacent school building into a community center and build a new park on the property.

Oak Lodge Library Branch

  • Construction of a new library, approximately 19,500 sq. ft. (nearly three times larger than present)
  • Located within the Oak Lodge library service area (specific site to be determined after public input).
  • Residents will shape the library through a visioning process to meet needs and interests.

Gladstone Library Branch

  • A modern library downtown of approximately 6,000 sq. ft., constructed on city-owned land.
  • Constructing the library is dependent on successful passage of a Gladstone ballot measure to eliminate the prohibition on using city general funds for the library. Gladstone residents are expected to vote on this measure in May 2018.
  • City of Gladstone will continue to subsidize library operations at current levels.
  • Operated by Clackamas County to minimize costs. Library staff will become county employees.
