- Land Use Activities/Decisions None
- Bill Merchant, Vice-Chair
- Region 1 Area Commission on Transportation (R1ACT) - ADA Ramps are a topic of current discussion. 2025 Legislation on land use. Lime scooters are being used in Tualatin to provide “micro transportation”. The scooters are free to use, work all over Tualatin, stop working at the city’s boundary, and won’t work IN the high schoo. You can ride it to school but not inside it. Lime provides the software to permit the use of the scooters as well as maintenance and relocation if the scooter is abandoned someplace.
- Community Planning Organization (CPO) Summit - Meeting next week.
- Clackamas County Committee for Community Involvement (CCI) – CPO Handbook
- Still in progress. Bill shared our Hamlet's comments.
- Cheryl Buchert, Treasurer
- Treasurer’s Report - Upgrade to the Community agenda to show all of the accounts.
- Boosters Welcome Committee Report – Sips & Sprinkles Fundraising Event -
Excited to have this event. It is being promoted via Facebook page, and the website. Is payment only paypal or venmo? Cheryl looking into that. The Grange needed our current liability insurance, Tammy obtained from Ed Nieto, and forwarded it on.
- Gina McMurry, Secretary & Corresponding Secretary
- Approval of minutes, September Board & Community Meetings. Bill recommends approving minutes with corrections. Joe Matteo seconded. All approved.
- Website Update Review – Board Bios - All accepted. Discussed that updates can continue as things are added.
- Mark Hillyard, Director at Large
- Clackamas County Coordinating Committee (C4) - Hamlet Representation -
Mostly covered transportation. All based upon the catastrophe and where it is geographically. Much work has been done, and continues. Counties will be coordinating with each other. Biggest lesson? “Don’t evacuate the whole county at once.” Discussed AMR Contract and pricing changes. For this, little concern on response time versus Multnomah County. Vehicle registrations going up, with discussion on how to get taxes back on electric vehicles. Hybrid formulas in process, along with mileage and how much gas is used, etc…ORIGO tracks your every move. The transportation act moved to the Governor, then signatures to be collected to get it on the May ballot. Mayor of Mollalla has a video post about the status of this. TriMet hasn’t recovered to prepandemic levels so thus why not moved into Oregon City, stopped at Milwaukie. The payroll tax isn’t enough to make up for it. - Park Committee
- Holiday Tree Lighting – December 6th (Complete Event Form) Santa Claus is confirmed. Mark Tammy Bill will be there representing the Hamlet.
- Marketing – BCT flyer, FB (BCS, Forum, Hamlet, Connections), 2 grade schools, Grange, CSWCD, 10 O’Clock Church, website, Instagram, and ?
Discussed Marketing for the Grange potluck - FB Groups, BCT Newsletter, BCSaloon - already on their page, forum, our hamlet, connections, Carus Beavercreek and Clarkes grade schools already done. Grange has it on their website and facebook page. CSWD gets it. Add to 10 O’clock church. (Hamlet Instagram needs to go in, you tube channel, put past videos). - Park Committee Events Form – what board members are going, and what are they going to do (sell something/promote something), etc…Need this information going forward in advance.
- Clackamas County Coordinating Committee (C4) - Hamlet Representation -
- Kenny Sernach, Director at Large
- Clackamas County Coordinating Committee (C4) - CPO Representation & Executive Committee - Kenny's comments included in what Mark was saying above in his update.
- Joe Matteo, Director at Large
- Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District Board Member Report - Meeting has not taken place yet. New committee: Working & Natural Lands Protection Committee, Joe is a part of this one. This goes into which lands to be protected from development, not including lands already in the Urban Growth Boundary. They have a $25k budget. Tammy mentioned the planning committee is discussing the same even including hazardous things like landslides, etc… Himalayan Blackberry is the weed of the month.
- The Barn November Guest Speakers – Sam, Lisa, Chris - This will be a finisher discussion on the plan, survey, vision on the barn. Tammy provided a list of things citizens might like to know, so they’ll be prepared in advance.
- Miscellaneous Topics
- Frank attended our meeting and asked in chat about the concrete platforms - Bill informed its part of the speed radar/information to driver’s project.
- BCC Monthly Hamlet Report – Volunteers of the Month - Volunteers of the Month Patrick Whitmore & Barbara Brook - for always supporting the community with fundraising, events, citizen challenges and natural disasters. Kenny Sernach for his service on C4 & the CPO representation and the County Budget Committee.
- C4 – Kenny Sernach, Karen , Bill Merchant – ensure C4 alternate is comfortable becoming the C4 CPO representative in February, and they need a new alternate. Rick Cook might have a suggestion. This is for Feb ballots.
- 2025 Elections – Buchert, Hillyard, McMurry, Sernach (ballots?) Next week are elections. Tammy reaffirmed her commitment to serve the county, the citizens and our board. Tammy wanted to discuss recruiting up to 4 new members, especially younger folks so they can learn and grow into the role. Bill will look into the bylaws about us being able to appoint prior to the next election. / We have to raise our hands and vote but don’t need ballots since it's all incumbents running. So, motion to accept, somebody seconding, then the vote.
- New PGA Email Alias – hamlets@clackamas.us / Per Ed, use this for hamlet and our CPO business.
- Strategic Planning Meeting – December 10th at 5:00PM until complete (hopefully by 7:00PM). Sandwiches and beverages provided.
