James Hieb has been appointed to the Oregon House by Clackamas and Marion county commissioners.

Following last month’s resignation by Rep. Christine Drazan from the Oregon House, commissioners held a joint session earlier this morning to interview candidates and select a replacement.

The session was held over Zoom and will be archived on Clackamas County’s YouTube Channel soon.

Oregon law requires that a legislative vacancy be filled by county commissioners representing the district in which the vacancy exists. Senate District 20 includes voters in Clackamas and Marion counties. Finalists were selected by the local Republican Party, as deemed by state law.
