County Calls for Volunteers to Help at Warming Shelters This Weekend

Date

Oregon City, ORE.—Feb. 24, 2023: Clackamas County will keep its three overnight warming shelters open through this weekend. With overnight temperatures as low as 10 degrees Fahrenheit, shelters will remain open in Canby, Molalla and Oregon City. These shelters are available for all residents who require a warm place to stay overnight, including households experiencing homelessness, people who do not have adequate heating, and others.

Our warming shelters have a critical need for volunteers in order to operate around the clock this weekend. We encourage the public to please consider signing up for a shift. Volunteer shifts are available all night and throughout the day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers will work alongside trained shelter staff to set up, welcome and support shelter guests. Volunteer spots are also available to provide meals for shelter guests.
