Firefighters control fire Tuesday in Molalla

A fire in Molalla that evacuated local residents was brought under control by firefighters from several nearby agencies Tuesday afternoon.

Just after 3:30 p.m., firefighters responded to the wind-driven brush/grass fire near Kennel Avenue. A Level 3 evacuation alert was ordered for the Twin Fir Mobile Home Park, 300 Kennel Avenue, 310 Kennel Avenue and 250 Kennel Avenue. Residents at Bear Creek Memory Care were also evacuated. 

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in a short time. The Level 3 evacuation alert will be rescinded by 7 p.m. 

Fire officials said there were no injuries to civilians or those battling the fire. No homes in the area were burned. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Agencies responding to the fire included: Molalla Fire, Molalla Police, Colton Fire, Clackamas Fire, Canby Fire, Hubbard Fire, Aurora Fire and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue.
