DA sealThe Clackamas County District Attorney's Office is thrilled to host again its Honoring Victims of Crime event later this month.

Set from 2-4:30 p.m. April 25 at Liberty Plaza (807 Main Street in Oregon City), this public event will recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Child Abuse Awareness Month and Crime Victim Rights Week.

Speakers at this event will include: Clackamas County District Attorney John Wentworth, Gladstone Police Chief John Schmerber, Clackamas County District Attorney's Victim Assistance Program Director Carrie Walker and a special guest who will tell their story of surviving a crime.

"This is an event I really look forward to every year because we get to come together as a community to support victims of crime," Wentworth said. "We have so many resources and support services available to victims of crime, but above all, they need to know we're here for them."

In partnership with the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office, 13 community partners will host information tables to talk to attendees about the work they each perform and the services they provide to victims of crime. The event will also give away ice cream bars and host puppets from Clackamas Women's Services and therapy dogs from Dove Lewis.

This is the second year the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office has held this event. The mission of the District Attorney's Office is to provide leadership, accountability, and high-quality service in a fair and just manner so that those who live, work, and play in Clackamas County can enjoy a safe and livable community.
