Clackamas Heights

The goal of redeveloping Clackamas Heights Redevelopment is to transform the 16-acre, 100-home public housing community—originally built in the early 1940s—into a vibrant, mixed-income community with up to 250 new homes, green spaces, and community amenities.

The Housing Authority of Clackamas County hopes to work with residents and community members in the planning and design process to envision the future of Clackamas Heights.

Approximate Redevelopment Timeline

(as of April 2024)

  • Summer 2024: Application submitted to the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
  • Fall 2024: Expected approval from HUD
  • Late 2024: Upon approval from HUD, HACC will apply for Section 8 Tenant Protection Vouchers (TPVs).
  • Early 2025: Once TPVs are approved by HUD, HACC will begin tenant relocation with Section 8 Voucher Assistance.
  • Late 2025 - Early 2026: Estimated start of construction

Relocation

All residents who are displaced will receive a Section 8 voucher and relocation assistance from the Housing Authority. A moving specialist will work with every household long before the relocation date to find replacement housing. In addition, financial assistance to cover moving expenses, security deposits, and other fees will be provided. All displaced residents will be given the choice to move to a new home at Clackamas Heights once the new construction is complete.

For additional information about relocation, please attend one of the Relocation Informational meetings on February 15. Meeting times are included in the schedule below.
