Carver Park boat ramp maintenance to begin week of April 20
Clackamas County Parks will resurface the Carver Boat Ramp parking lot, and replace sidewalks and curbs, beginning the week of April 20. The project is expected to be complete by June 30. The public may notice some noise and dust in the area around the project during daylight hours, Monday-Friday.
The work, funded in part by a grant from the Oregon State Marine Board, has been scheduled for some time because the parking lot pavement, sidewalks and curbs are deteriorating to the point of being unsafe. Resurfacing the parking lot now will cost considerably less than letting the lot deteriorate to the point where it would have to be totally replaced. In addition, this infrastructure project will provide employment at a time when many people are not able to work and will ensure the boat ramp facility is in good condition once it can be re-opened to the public.
In accordance with directives from Oregon Governor Kate Brown, construction work may continue during the pandemic as long as social distancing and other public health guidelines are followed. Clackamas County Parks takes the safety and health of its employees and contractors very seriously, and will ensure that all guidelines are followed at the construction site.
