Clackamas County’s Health Centers Division is seeking an Office Specialist 2 to join our dedicated team at the Lake Road Health Center Clinic. This position provides a wide range of clerical and administrative support to our fast-paced clinic and plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations. The Office Specialist will be responsible for client registration and check-in, answering and routing phone calls, verifying insurance information, processing payments, supporting clinicians with data entry, and assisting with other office functions to ensure excellent service delivery.

Roles and responsibilities
- Client Registration & Intake: Register new clients, verify insurance, explain fees, and schedule appointments.
- Client Check-In: Greet clients, update demographic and insurance information, collect payments, and notify clinicians of arrivals.
- Telephone Support: Answer calls, screen inquiries, schedule or cancel appointments, relay client messages, and make appropriate referrals.
- Data & Record Handling: Assist with EMR entries (EPIC), process technical paperwork, and verify accuracy of submitted forms.
- Payment Processing: Collect fees, generate receipts, and ensure proper transaction records are forwarded to appropriate staff.
- Clinician Support: Provide assistance with client record systems, troubleshoot issues, and enter data as requested by staff.
- General Office Coordination: Help with mail routing, faxes, intake packet preparation, front desk coverage, and other administrative tasks.
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in office support or similar role that would provide the required knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the job
- Minimum one (1) year experience working in a front desk or receptionist capacity
- Minimum one (1) year experience providing exceptional customer service
- Minimum one (1) year experience providing accurate data entry
- Minimum one (1) year experience handling a high volume of calls and greeting walk-in visitors
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working in an environment with the focus of supporting mentally ill individuals or those who experience substance use disorders
- Experience working within a primary care and/or behavioral health setting
- Experience providing support with client intake and registration processes including verification of insurance benefits
- Experience working in EPIC or similar health record software programs
- Fluency in Spanish/English (bilingual skills to be validated/tested at time of interview and/or selection)
Pre-employment requirements
- Must pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check
- Driving is necessary for County business. For position(s) with occasional/incidental driving, incumbents must possess a valid driver's license. Accommodation requests for an acceptable alternative method of transportation will be reviewed on an individual basis in compliance with State and Federal legislation. House and duration
This position works 40 hours (8 hours, 5 days a week) during a standard work week of Monday through Friday.
Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.
