Policy Sessions

To protect the health of our public and our employees during the current COVID-19 pandemic, Clackamas County has closed this office to the public, effective until at least April 20.

Please contact us by email, phone, or mail. We will work to respond as quickly as we can, but we do ask for your patience as we focus on providing public service and keeping our community and staff safe.

During this time, commissioners are encouraging the public to participate digitally in weekly Business Meetings.

Policy Sessions, or Work Sessions, are typically scheduled on Tuesdays throughout the day (occasionally on Wednesday).

Except for a regular update from the County Administrator (called “Administrator Issues/Updates” and typically held as the first Policy Session on Tuesdays), these meetings are primarily for staff to present items that require:

  1. extensive background information and study,
  2. policy direction, and/or
  3. an opportunity for in-depth discussion with staff on issues.

All policy sessions must have a quorum of the Board of County Commissioners. While these meetings are public and open to all, public comment is not heard. However, public comment is taken every Thursday at the weekly Business Meeting on any topic relevant to Clackamas County.

All policy sessions are archived via audio.
